Jesmonite Care
Jesmonite should be cleaned gently with a damp cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive materials to protect its sealed surface. It is splash-proof and heat resistant, but not dishwasher or microwave-safe, and prolonged exposure to water may cause watermarks.
For best results, use indoors and handle with care to prevent chips or damage.

Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the surface clean, ideally dampened slightly with water if needed. After cleaning, dry the item thoroughly to prevent any moisture absorption. Avoid soaking or submerging in water, as prolonged exposure can cause watermarks or compromise the integrity of the seal.

Handle gently to prevent chipping, scratching, or breaking, as Jesmonite, while durable, can be damaged if dropped or knocked against hard surfaces. Avoid stacking items directly on top of one another, and place them on soft or non-abrasive surfaces to preserve their finish. Proper care will help maintain the integrity and appearance of each handcrafted piece over time.

Not safe for dishwasher use, as the high heat and strong detergents can weaken the protective sealant, potentially leading to surface damage, discolouration, or water absorption over time. To preserve the finish and longevity of your Jesmonite piece, always clean it gently by hand with a soft cloth and mild soap if needed.

Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, oils, or cosmetics, as these substances can break down the sealant, stain the surface, or alter the finish of the Jesmonite. Common culprits include cleaning sprays, essential oils, perfumes, and skincare products, which may leave marks or degrade the material over time.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, humidity, and extreme temperatures. Prolonged exposure to heat or UV light can cause discolouration or warping, while damp conditions may affect the sealant or finish over time. Keeping your item in a stable indoor environment will help preserve its appearance and structural integrity for years to come.

Not safe for microwave use, as Jesmonite contains natural minerals and a resin base that are not designed to withstand microwave heat. Microwaving can damage the material, compromise the sealant, and may cause cracking or discolouration over time.
